SAP Service and Asset Management (SSAM)

SSAM generally stands for SAP Service and Asset Management, but is not officially used by SAP as an independent module designation. In practice, the term SAP Service and Asset Management (SSAM) is often used as an umbrella term to describe the functions and solutions within the SAP environment that deal with the management of assets and technical services.

SAP Asset Management –
Mobile Maintenance for field operations

SAP Asset Manager is SAP’s mobile solution to support maintenance and service teams in the field. The app provides access to asset information, work orders, checklists, photos, and measurement values – even offline.

Technicians can document maintenance activities directly on site, post spare parts, record disruptions, or complete checklists. The data is automatically synchronized with the central SAP EAM system. This makes the entire maintenance process more efficient, transparent, and available in real time – regardless of location.

What is SAP CS (Customer Service)

SAP CS is the SAP module for handling technical service processes related to assets, machines, and products. It supports companies in recording, planning, executing, and billing service orders – for example within maintenance contracts, repairs, or warranty processing.
